David Dang

David Dang is a french director with vietnamese roots.
His origins were a chance because they gave him different points of view when he deals with a subject, a kind of eurasian view between the european culture and the asian one.
His first movie was the short-film « Love at first sight » done within 48 hours (writing, shooting, editing…) like the 2 next short-films « Feelings » and « Ashes » shot the same week.
« Feelings » is more an experience than a movie, he tried to make a movie where people don’t have to think and just feel in order to use their own experience and memories to build their own story.
« Ashes » is darker because it deals with the mourning and how it is difficult to bear someone else’s death.
Those 3 short-films were a trilogy where he focused on the visual aspect only and the feelings coming from the different steps of love : first meeting, relationship, death…
